Ms. Osgood grew up in New Hampshire, went to college in Boston, traveled around the United States, and settled in California for several years before returning to New England to pursue her professional education at Yale. Intrigued by biology, physiology, health and illness from a young age, many experiences shaped her path to becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. These included a high school internship working with some of the first pediatric nurse practitioners in the newly minted profession, conducting virology research at Harvard Medical School and working as a wildlife rescue technician in the San Francisco Bay area. When it came to deciding between a career in the lab, in nature or health care, Ms. Osgood knew she wanted to work more closely with patients.
For Ms. Osgood, pediatrics as a subspecialty was a clear choice. She loves the comments that come out of kids’ mouths, the sheer joy they express in their successes and abilities, and how resilient they are when things are hard or scary or painful. Watching young parents delight in their newborn and build confidence in parenting as their children grow over time is a privilege to witness. Ms. Osgood enjoys working with children and adolescents of all ages and their families to encourage healthy lifestyles. She has a particular interest in child safety and the management of asthma.
Ms. Osgood lives with her husband in Northampton and eagerly follows the adventures of her three young adult children. In her free time she enjoys walking/hiking, yoga, traveling and a good novel.
Ms. Osgood sees patients 3 days a week in our Holyoke office.
