David P. Norton, MD (primary location: Holyoke office)

Dr. Norton received his undergraduate degree (magna cum laude) from Georgetown University and his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of California in San Francisco, and was in practice in Marin County, California for several years before moving to the Pioneer Valley. Before coming to HPA, he was in practice in Ware, Mass. at Quabbin Pediatrics, and working in the Baystate Pediatric Residency teaching clinic in Springfield. He previously worked at Medical West in Chicopee. He is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Norton has particular interests in public and international health, and preventive care. He is a member of the Massachusetts State Immunization Advisory Committee, and is Chair of the Massachusetts Medical Society Committee on Public Health. He is Co- State Coordinator for the American Academy of Pediatrics office based research network (PROS), and is Chair of Pediatrics for Interplast, a medical volunteer program providing free plastic and reconstructive surgery for children in a number of developing countries (www.interplast.org). With Interplast, Dr. Norton has done volunteer work in a number of countries, including Peru, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, Vietnam and India. He is also involved in coordinating an elective international health program for the pediatric residents at Baystate Medical Center.  

Dr. Norton lives in Amherst with his wife and three teenage children. Outside the office, he is an avid gardener, birdwatcher and Morris Dancer, and is learning to play the fiddle.

He is fluent in German and Spanish.
